'Srijan' means
As the colours of Creation
merge with the chants of
Sreshtham Srijamyaham
and fill the air,
the child's inner space
and creativity finds light
and rejoices the celebration

Independence day was celebrated by the trustee Ms Suminder Kaur, hoisting the national flag, followed by the National Anthem. Then Ms Suminder Kaur gave a speech on the values of freedom today and how each and every Indian should remember the supreme sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. She also spoke about non- violence and that student should try not to get angry. She then advised students to adhere to Gandhian principles and their relevance in our lives today. This was followed by some cultural items beginning with a Qawwali followed by a dance by classes IV and V to a Karadi Rhyme based on unity in diversity . The other items on the programme were a poem, by Nikhil Jain of class XI, “ Where the mind is without fear” by Rabindranath Tagore and another self composed Hindi poem by Ridhima Jain of class X based on the unfavourable way people behave today even after getting independence.
